What is a Cheese Slicer Wire?

What is a Cheese Slicer Wire?

When cutting cheese, a knife can be detriMental to the cheese, especially if it is soft. It will push the soft cheese down, production it into a mush. Using a cheese slicer wire will eliminate this problem. They will normally come in two distinct sizes, a thick wire for thicker slices and a thin wire for thin slices.

Legend has it; a Norwegian carpenter called Thor, first discovered this cheese slicer. He devised a small cutter using a steel wire to help him cut straight through his cheese on a scorching summer afternoon. He gifted his most recent creation to his friends and soon applied for a copyright.

It is the most easy and most recognized slicer used today. It basically comprises of a wooden or steel handle with a single or duplicate wire fixed across firmly. The wires cut all type of cheese without any difficulty but are more comfortable in cutting the medium and soft cheese variants.

Wire cheese slicer normally use piano wire for it's ideal thickness. It is rust proof and of Food-grade quality. The handles contribute a superb grip and makes identical cheese slices with puny or no effort. The handles also protect our hands and the thin wires generate no mess.

This slicer is very easy and way reasonable than other complex slicing appliances. Using a knife to cut cheese may be quite cumbersome sometimes. The cheese sticks to the knife or even gets mashed with too much force. But with a wire, all these difficulties may be avoided.

These are generally quite reasonable and will cost in the middle of -5 depending on the brand and type of wire that you get. They de facto are a great treat in the kitchen!
